Larry's Velo

This is Larry's velomobile.  He has a littel windshield he put on it, but it isn't pictured here.  Some intermediate steps are listed below, as well as on Larry's site.

This is the mock-up of the fairing after being built up with pink styrofoam, and then hollowed out and shaped.
He couldn't wait until he built the frame for it, so he plopped teh progressed fairing on his CF trike to see what it would look like.  Looks good :)
This is the frame that Larry built for his velo.  All mild steel square tubing, fully suspended with homemade compact struts built in to slightly oversized kingpins.
The custom struts are made from delrin bushings sliding on 1/2" steel bolts using automotive valve springs.
To the right is a close up shot of the kingpin housing that doubles as the strut housing.  The machined AL spacer on the bottom of the kingpin slides up into the housing, guided by a delrin bushing.  Bulldozer type steering attaches to the brake caliper mount.
